Scott had an interest in acting since childhood and considered his father, who was also an actor, as his role model. While growing up, he wanted to explore his other passions too and hence, decided to play professional sports for a while. He additionally created a rap duo, “The Whooliganz.” It didn’t receive much success and faced serious roadblocks. Consequently, it was disbanded just after releasing its only single: “Put Your Handz Up,” in 1993. In 1995, he was offered roles in two movies: Star Struck and A Boy Called Hate, which marked his debut in the acting industry. He then appeared in other small movies: Bongwater (1998) and Gregg Araki’s Nowhere (1997).

His critically acclaimed performance in the above roles led to his first major acting project: Varsity Blue, a movie featuring prominent names of the acting industry, including Paul Walker and James Van Der Beek. The film received critical recognition and, at the same time, became a box office hit. He was then approached to act in Ready to Rumble (2000), and Boiler Room (2000), which he accepted and subsequently became a public name. He was also involved in the acclaimed Ocean’s trilogy.
